Leadership
Will Lansing
Principal
Will began his career in real estate straight out of college. In 2003, he co-founded a company specializing in the purchasing and rehabilitation of distressed real estate and grew it into a significant business. After selling his partnership interest 5 years later, Will began developing larger scale projects including condo conversions and ground up construction of both for sale and rental housing. It wasn’t long after that Valor Development was formed. Since 2009, Valor has grown into a family of verticals known as The Valor Companies. Will is involved in all aspects of the companies from acquisitions to deal capitalization to portfolio management. He also oversees the development activity and operations of the companies and their staff. Will holds a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Felipe Serpa
Principal
Felipe joined Valor in 2015 out of graduate school, spending four years as a Project Manager overseeing various development functions across the company's portfolio. Felipe then spent 2019 through mid-2023 in the affordable housing space, first with a national firm focused on the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing affordable projects as a Project Manager, then with a New York City-based vertically integrated development firm working on new construction affordable housing projects, homeless shelters, and transitional shelters as a Vice President. Felipe returned to Valor in late 2023 as a Principal, co-managing the day-to-day activities of the firm's active affordable housing projects as well as identifying new opportunities in the market rate and affordable space. Felipe holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from Amherst College and a Masters in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University.
Matt Leydig
Principal
Matt Leydig has over 17 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and investment. He focuses on acquisitions and capitalization of the Valor Companies various transactions. Prior to the Valor Companies, Matt was the Senior Vice President at EagleBank where he financed in excess of $5 Billion of commercial real estate development in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Additionally, he has been involved in purchasing and developing single family and small condo developments since 2003. A native Washingtonian, Matt holds a Bachelor of Science from the Smeal Schoool of Business at Penn State University. Matt currently serves on the Board of Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, a local non-profit serving those experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County, Maryland.
